Our Story

Beauty Food is the result of my frustration to find a completely natural product that could calm and treat my daughter's eczema. In 1999 I had my first lovely daughter, and shortly thereafter she was diagnosed with eczema. This diagnosis sent me on a path to find a product that worked without the use of steroids and other chemical additives. Little did I know that my passion for creating all natural skin and hair products was solidified in those early days of motherhood.

The mixing began with much trial and error, and I eventually went back to my native West African roots and started thinking about the different fruits, nuts, and oils I grew up eating. I remember my mother telling me stories of using Palm Kernel oil exclusively on her skin as a young girl and watching her use it on my skin and hair as well. I was inspired by the way she mixed different oils for cooking and body care, and I decided that if these foods are so good for me internally, why wouldn't they be great for my daughter's skin externally. I eventually created a blend of oils that not only healed my daughter's eczema, but also healed my other two children who were also born with eczema.

Several years later that same idea, that what is good for the inside should be also be good for the outside inspires us to create pure, natural and organic products that work for people of all ages and skin types. I did not set out to create Beauty Food products but my commitment to quality – natural hair and skin care products has pushed me to share these wonderful recipes with you.

We carefully source our ingredients like Pure African Aloe, Raw Nut Butters, and Exotic Oils to ensure they are of the highest quality.
